Male human scout 6/ranger 2
Dungeons & Dragons v.3.5 (D&D Tactics: The Farce)

Guy is a reclusive, surly, and quiet man - indeed, he appears to be mute (or at least, never bothers to speak to anyone). In fact, even his companions don't know his real name, only calling him Guy for lack of a better moniker. Despite this, he is the undisputed party leader, making decisions and generally executing them through his more charismatic companions.

Guy originally formed the party for reasons they could only guess at (because he never told them). Though antisocial and gruff, and almost entirely unlikable, the innocent and attractive divine spellcaster of the party has inexplicably fallen in love with him. His feelings for her are unknown, as he has not shown any emotion to the rest of the party to date.

In combat, Guy represents stealthy, walking death. Though not as resilient as his metallic companion, he is extremely efficient at both ranged and hand-to-hand combat, and generally manages to come through in the clutch during major encounters.

Character Creation Details

Guy was created at 8th level using the standard array (point buy 25) method of generating ability scores. He has above-standard treasure for his level (29,700 gp worth vs. 27,000 gp worth).

In addition to the core D&D 3.5 books, the following books were used in Guy's creation:
Complete Arcane (CAr)
Complete Warrior (CW)
Miniatures Handbook (MH)

Playing Tips

Guy is the most flexible character in the party, and generally the most efficient at dealing damage. Though capable of multiple attacks, he is generally better off taking advantage of his extreme mobility and feat selection to use his skirmish ability. When quantity is needed over quantity, Guy can perform well with his vast array of arrows and the Rapid Shot feat, but his melee prowess should not be overlooked.

With his generally high AC as well as the Mobility and Spring Attack feats, not to mention his ability to ignore rough terrain, Guy can get anywhere fast, hit a target, and get out of the way. His Distracting Attack feat can help his companions in melee combat, but he cannot use it while firing his bow.

Because Guy has the ability to get anywhere on the battlefield quickly and dish out a lot of damage, he is most valuable when taking out dangerous but fragile targets, such as enemy spellcasters. Evasion and a high Reflex save will protect him from area of effect spells, but he is vulnerable to Enchantment spells due to his low Will save.

I just realized that I never updated the new stat block style sheet on the live site, so I've done that. It may actually be less readable now, but it follows the new style pretty exactly.

Also, you may have noticed that Guy's favored enemy is not defined. That's mainly because I don't know what you guys will be fighting just yet... if anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears, but I'll make sure it's something that will be useful in the end.

EDIT: I also added the details for the various types of arrows that are not in the SRD. I will be giving full statistics for any spell, item, ability, or whatever that is not in the SRD for all of these characters.

I really have no idea what the prize for this one will be, but I guess something to do with... mobility? I dunno. Anyway...

The question: Which character in which Square RPG is a "Silent Protagonist" according to his or her profile?

That is incorrect! Although Chrono is a silent protagonist, he doesn't have a "class" listed anywhere. Or maybe he does, but in any case it isn't "Silent Protagonist."

Since no one got it, and people stopped guessing, the answer was Serge from Chrono Cross. Although I guess if you said Lynx I'd have taken that, too. But knowing why would involve having played the game, which you really shouldn't if you know what's good for you. Wink
